Our story
In 2021, we made the exciting decision to move our family to the Pacific Northwest and plant our roots in the charming and close‑knit community of Ridgefield. We immediately felt at home! With a spirited then two‑year‑old, we quickly sought child‑friendly spaces, only to find limited options that left us feeling overstimulated and drained.
As we met and talked to others with young children, we heard that their experiences at play spaces were similar to ours: chaotic, stressful, overwhelming.
Motivated by these shared stories, we envisioned Junebug Play & Learning Space, a thoughtful indoor play space catering to both children and their guardians, balancing fun and learning with comfort and safety.
Junebug isn't just a project, but a love letter to our now five‑year‑old and the community seeking a cozy, enriching, and safe local haven. Welcome to Junebug, your new go‑to for playful learning!
Our purpose
Junebug Play & Learning Space provides children (ranging from six (6) months to six (6) years old) a safe and enriching space that has been thoughtfully designed to ensure their developmental needs—social, mental, physical, and emotional—are holistically met while they explore, engage, and play.
Whether our visitors are exploring our space, attending a workshop, or celebrating a birthday, our warm and inclusive environment allows them to activate their inherent curiosity and playfulness.
We believe the practice of imaginative, inquisitive, and ample play is the foundation of learning for current and future generations of children and we hope our commitment to enriching the lives of children through plentiful and purposeful play will make us an invaluable asset within our community.
